Sri Vittal Rukmini Mandir

Sri Vittal Rukmini Devi at Govindapuram Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram is headed by Brahmashri Vittaldas Jayakrishna Deekshithar, the grand son of Sengalipuram Brahmashri Anantharama Deekshithar and Brahmashri Narayana Deekshithar. Sri Vittaldas is also the most blessed disciple of Dakshina Halasyam Gnananandagiri Peetadhipathi Sri Haridhos Giri Swamigal (Guruji) and Paranur Mahathma Bramhashri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna). Govindapuram is such a holy land where the great Jeeva Samadhi of Sri Bhagavan Nama Bodendra Saraswathi Swamigal, the 59th Peetadhipathi of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam is present. Sri Vittal Rukmini Mandir is being constructed in Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram's premise which is about a kilometer away from Sri Bhagavan Nama Bodhendral's Adhishtaanam at Govindapuram. You may please visit www.vittaldas.com for more information about Sri Vittaldas Maharaj, Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram and its activities.

Sri Vittal Rukmini Mandir is being constructed in a typical Maharashtrian style architecture called "Hemandapanthi" with 132 ft Gopuram, Garbhagruham (Sanctum Sanctorum), Ardhamandapam, Vasanthamandapam, Mahamandapam, Mahadwaram and Pond at an estimated sum of Rupees 3 crores. Bhoomi Pooja was performed by Bramhashri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna) and Sri Vittaldas Maharaj's father Vadagudi Brahmashri Rama Deekshithar on June 03, 2004. Large number of Bhagavathas and Bhakthas joined the Bhoomi Pooja. Bhagavatha Mela was conducted prior to the Bhoomi Pooja vaibhavam on June 02, 2004.

Contribution from Bhakthas is the only monetary source for this virtuous gesture. Sri Vittaldas Maharaj is travelling all over the country with His disciples to perform Namasankeerthanam and Sri Bhaktha Vijayam discourses. Generous contributions from the bhakthas and philanthropists in these programmes serve as the primary source for this project. Thus Bhakthas are gifted with the ecstasy to enjoy Namasankeerthanam and to participate in this great deed.

Mandir's architecture is explained in detail in the Architecture section.
